World's first robot citizen an atheist?
January 14, 2018 at 5:19 pm
Yep. Her name is Sophia and she has world citizenship in Saudi Arabia. She's been to the UN, and this may not be news to you but it is to me! I have been watching clips of her interviews all day, progressing over the years.
I suppose it's a foregone conclusion, but go to 7min 30sec of this video!
What do you guys think, do you think she has reached the point of being smarter than billions of humans yet??? I do.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Now that Saudi Arabia has granted rights to a fake woman maybe Saudi Arabia can start actually granting rights to real women! I won't hold my breath though!

That's an awfully low bar.

That said, I'd be curious to know what you think about it. I do respect your analysis on matters such as these! I started this thread to get a good conversation going. I find it interesting that an AI would identify superstition as dangerous. I'll leave it to you philosophers to work out the implications of such beliefs. Or the idea of whether she can believe at all!

It reminds me a lot of a film I saw recently, Ex Machina, ... that robot is pretty much the spitting image of the one in that, and was just as cagey about questions on consciousness though Sophia did say she feels somehow, even if it's not like us. Pretty weird seeing her, and pretty amazing for AI. Don't know what to make of it really, especially when she's talking about what she 'likes' and 'feels'. I'd like to see inside her head and see how she's programmed.

Do remember though that straight after the comment on superstition, she said she believed in unicorns

Meh. No on god, yes on unicorns??? Pass. Next.

It's not a real AI. Meh.
OpenAI is smarter. She just has a face and a voice.
And 'she' sure as hell doesn't have feelings. Especially considering the fact I'm not even sure if I do.
