Why, God? Why?!
RE: Why, God? Why?!
He's omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. He owns the fucking place and therefore wants and needs nothing.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

It is true that He needs nothing.

But I don't see why being omni all those things means you can't want anything.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Yeah, that doesn't follow logically. It's doctrine, not a logical conclusion. It's an arbitrary declaration.

It does follow logically, it's a principle you live by on a daily basis. The same rules that apply naturally apply spiritually.

Why did God create adam or why did God create people?

People (outside the garden) were created to provide the genetic diversity and temptation/sin needed to allow the sons and daughters of Adam to physically thrive and adapt to any and every environment as well as provide them with the spiritual obsticals to over come and grow spiritually.

Why did God create Adam and Eve? to populate the earth and subsequently the heavens with His 'children'/workers. Once they/we past the tests of this world.

I'm willing to bet that this is another proclamation entirely like your earlier bit about gods reasons and gods love, where you'll say it..and then under inspection spend all of your time arguing precisely the opposite.

I noticed you had no response tho...

Also where did I argue in opposition to God's love?

New thread title:  From whence did the concept of "other beings" come in the mind of the perfect, self-sufficient God?

But, why does a god have wants?

Perhaps it is part of their natural development.  I wonder how many have been studied.

Why not?

It seems you're saying that a perfect being must necessarily do absolutely nothing, because doing something would imply a want or need, but in your opinion a being with a want or need can't be perfect. So it just...exists and does nothing.

Seems kinda silly.

I know.  A 'perfect' being, right?  Yeah kind of silly alright.

Hey, we invented Him, He can damn well have whatever characteristics we like.

I just don’t understand why, or how, a perfectly whole, complete, and self-fulfilling being could want something.  To want, means you are experiencing desire for something that you don’t presently have.  How does an Omni-everything, perfectly complete and self-fulfilling entity lack something?

Love, desire, hate.....negotiation and pleading and supplication and agreements....worship.  These are the concepts and motivations of biological organisms, human beings..specifically.   What sense does it make to assert the existence of an inorganic so wholly different from us..only to immediately insist that it holds concepts and is motivated by anything so explicitly human?

Asking for "gods" reasons is a fools errand.  All you'll ever receive are human beings reasons, and they'll never be anything more than that..as silly and tortured and self referential as anything we've seen in this thread. Do we really expect a hopped up chimp to be able to accurately describe an archon by comparison to itself? A force of nature..in this case -the- force of nature has no reasons and needs no reasons. It does what it does, full stop.
