Re the OP: I agree they're just a bunch of whiners. Besides I happen to like some gospel music. They shouldn't let logic dictate their aesthetics.

This instance seems a bit petty by the FFRF, but largely I think they do a great job of keeping religion out of public schools and off public property.

They usually do pretty good, but I have to side against the FFRF; dude was a minister for most of his life, so a gospel choir would actually be appropriate in this context.

I gotta agree, Neo. He wasn't just an American activist, he was a Lutheran minister. Playing gospel music at an event meant to commemorate him was entirely appropriate. These guys need to pick their battles.
