Put it this way. Every time I felt like I had made friends, it was time to move again. I grew up being the “new girl”. Then I got married and decided to stay in one place, so my kids could enjoy stability. Divorce came around and now I really can’t go anywhere due to shared custody. There’s pros and cons. On one hand, my kids are growing up with the same people. On the other hand, my kids are growing up with the same people.

Do you think you might move when the kids are grown, and if so where?

Born in Texas. Moved around a bit as a child due to my dad's work, including a few years in Iran. Joined the Air Force at 22 to do some more traveling ... they stationed me in Fort Worth, 15 miles from my birthplace. But I did get to live in Spain during my enlistment, and was stationed in Saudi Arabia.

I settled in California after discharge so we could raise my son near his mother's large, extended family (mine is, unsurprisingly, scatttered pretty well). Once he was old enough I moved back home to Texas.

My gypsy boots are tucked away safely under my bed; at this point in life, I like the idea of throwing down roots. There's a lot of traveling in my future, but moving? I might have one more jump left in the tank, but that'll be for a damned good reason, and not youthful wanderlust.

My parents moved us from Santa Clara CA in the early 70's. Excepting that and time in the military, I've lived within 20 miles of where I am right now.

I dont plan on leaving until I retire.

I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In the winter of '55, it snowed a cumulative 38 feet. That melted, and my dad moved us to California. Except for time in the US Navy (I joined to see the world, but never made it overseas), one year in Idaho, and nearly three years in Cape Canaveral, I've lived in California. I currently live about 25 miles from where I grew up. My family mostly lives near here, too.

Which suburb?  I was in Naperville.

Born in Portland, Maine, family moved to Zolfo Springs, Florida when I was still a babe, moved around up and down the east coast after my parents divorced until my father got custody and I was raised in Zolfo until I left after high school graduation. Attended college in D.C. and Missouri, then returned to Florida where I resided in Clearwater for many years. Momentarily lived in Tallahassee and then Mississippi before returning to Clearwater, Florida where I reside to this day.

Moved all over the place as a navy brat but I'm back to within 10 minutes of where I was born.  Although I didn't really spend much time growing up here, I have spent most my adult life in the San Francisco bay area.
