No umbrella widening required. Why do you think I made analogies with racism?

Then don't think about dicks... especially when the person doesn't have a dick.

Its the whole "don't think about pink elephants" thing. You can't just tell someone to not think about something. I mean, duh. It's in the brain or it's not. I don't have any control over that baseline of bubbling constant thoughts, and neither does anyone else.

Exactly this.

Hammy, I'm surprised, especially considering that you've diagnosed yourself with OCD, that you would suggest "just not thinking about something." Why would it work for sexual relationships if it doesn't work for anything else?

Yes but not liking pink elephants or penises are equally irrelevant to not being attracted to someone without a penis.

You may THINK that not being attracted to one of those could mean a person with a penis is no longer attractive to you, you may think that 'they used to have a penis' means they are no longer attractive, but your brain isn't actually referencing the person you mistakenly claim to be unattracted to, your brain is referencing something else you're unattracted to that no longer applies to them. And the disonnect and the motives behind it is what I find suspicious. Why is "used to have a penis" considered relevant?

Like I said, imagine in the far future where the operation was so perfect it instead became an atom for atom swap, the DNA got swapped, the chromosones got swapped and the biologicallly male body changing to a woman's transition was so perfect the woman was physically identical to a woman born a woman, atom for atom, chromosone for chromosone, 100% convincing and able to have kids.

You find them super hot, fall in love with the, fuck their brains out, consider their personality attractive. Their vagina feels real because it's physically identical to a woman who had never been needed to transform like that, and you get them pregnant. You then discover they had the atom for atom swap and are like "YUCK! They were different before!"

I fail to see how such a reaction is motivated by anything other than phobia and bigotry..... you ARE still attracted but you think you're not, so why are you self deceived?

And I fail to see how if an imperfect operation in today's world is convincing enough that you wouldn't know the difference until you're told the difference... I fail to see how it's any different to the other scenario I described in any way that's relevant to my argument.

But if plenty of people who are your intellectual superior hasn't caught on to the logical specifics of what I'm driving at, then I very much doubt that you'll get where I'm coming from when you are a dude who doesn't even grasp the usefulness of basic logical fallacy spotting lol.

You are talking about some sort of imaginary future. I assumed the question was about reality, today.

I don't expect him to control his thoughts and I don't believe anyone can even control their actions, ultimately, let alone their thoughts.

That wasn't the point. The point was thinking about the pink elephant is irrelevant.

And yeah, you can tell people to not think about something. That's different to telling them to control it... it's possible to make suggestions.

I know it won't actually stop them thinking about the elephant... but so what? The point is a penis is no more relevant than the elephant. It's got absolutely nothing to do with a person without a penis who you're already attracted to but recoiling and pretending not to be because you'd rather think about something else that has absolutely nothing to do with the person you're attracted to.

My point is being completely missed repeatedly.

See, you're an idiot. You don't even grasp basic thought experiments. The entire point is that those differences are irrelevant and if the reaction in one reality is bigoted then the reaction is this reality is bigoted for exactly the same reasons. In both cases the person is completely convinced the person is a woman, but when I make my point more vvid you grasp it but then you're like "that's a different reality" because you don't grasp thought experiments and your logic is terrible.

Jesus.

For Christ sake why do I ever bother fucking responding when your response is a response that only mentions something I've already predicted and addressed in the very response you're responding to?

I may as well just write one big post and then when I get responses quote parts of that post to show I've already answered everything. I waste a lot of my own time and energy and write a lot more original responses than I need to when I've already been fully comprehensive from the get go.

And why am I even wasting my time talking to CaptainAwful, the guy so awful at logic he couldn't follow logic if his life depended on it? I think I'll go do something or talk to someone more stimulating lol.

Lol, well you missed my point. Probably on purpose to go on your little rant. I also don't live in your imaginary future, but in the real world. I assumed the question was about the world we live in.

I was just starting to warm up to you too. Already using your diagnosis as an excuse to be an asshoIe. I guess it's back to pointing out all the times you totally fuck up pointing out logical fallacies, and are consistently wrong/don't give any additional explanation. It's fun for me.

No, Hams. Your point isn't being completely missed repeatedly. Maybe try having a conversation without blaming it on people misunderstanding you. I'm sorry, but it's gets tedious, dude. And, this isn't me treating you badly, disliking you, attacking you or anything else. This is me telling you what I see on a regular basis. You assert something. People disagree. You say they can't understand you. Don't get this twisted. You're a good kid. Just take ownership of what you say.

You told him not to think about dicks. That's not possible if that thought is what's in his head. If he doesn't want to fuck someone because it will make him think of dicks, that's perfectly fine. It doesn't make him transphobic. It doesn't make him wrong, bigoted or bad. He's choosing what he wants to do with his own body.

Because I have an active imagination, and don't like thinking about dicks.

I don't think about them either. I hope you can work around this thing you don't like.

The irony of saying I didn't grasp basic thought experiments while not even understanding the pink elephant metaphor is razor sharp. I doubt you'll really avoid talking to me. Half my responses on this forum seem to come from you. I think you like me, deep down. I'm who you'd like to be, confident, social, good with women, athletic, educated and smart. I spend all my time outside and am never depressed.

No I didn't. You didn't have a point, you merely failed to refute and completely misunderstood mine.

See you're a twat.

Quote:I was just starting to warm up to you too. Already using your diagnosis as an excuse to be an asshoIe.

I haven't changed my behavior one bit since having my diagnosis, I'm already an asshole. But the fact you think I've changed after the diagnosis when I was already like this does nothing but demonstrate your own shitheadness. I certainly wasn't warming up to you but at least I'm not your level of asshole-stupid.

Quote: I guess it's back to pointing out all the times you totally fuck up pointing out logical fallacies, and are consistently wrong/don't give any additional explanation. It's fun for me.

Lol you can't even grasp the meaning of logical fallacies so no wonder you've thought *I* fuck them up when you're the one who has been embarassed repeatedly for not grasping them.

Just in case you didn't notice, when CaptainAwful makes a bare assertion... it doens't make it true. There is actual evidence of you repeatedly fucking up logical fallacies, and I've been one of the people there, among others, to spot it.

Most people can't even grasp the NTS fallacy because they don't actually read up on it they just blurt out what they've heard other people say who misuse it.

Far from me ever fucking up logical fallacies, what tends to happen is people point out something that isn't a logical fallacy and then I explain, show them and link to what the fallacy actually means.

I don't think anyone who has seen how shit you are at grasping logical fallacies is really gonna do anything but laugh at you when you think I fuck them up lol. You made a whole thread embrassing yourself with your lack of an understanding of them. Which would be fine if you were humble about it, but you acted like the people who point them out are idiots, which is hilarious because it's like you're frustrated at the fact that you don't understand them yourself lol.

There's this common theme with arrogant stupid people who think they are smart, like yourself, where they'll assume anything they can't grasp is bullshit. Lmao.

You seem to think an awful lot about yourself. I thought you didn't like thinking about dicks?

And yet everywhere you go, there you are.

The mere fact that people think that penises has absolutely anything to do with people without penises, should show how little sense it is to think that you're not attracted to someone without a penis because penises are out there elsewhere or were out there elsewhere. The very association of transwomen with penises alludes to bigotry and phobia. We're not talking about a transwoman who hasn't had a genital operation and still has a penis, we're not even talking about a transwoman with an unconvincing artiifical vagina... we're talking about a transwoman with a completely convincing artificial vagina so convincing that you'd never know the difference if you were never told she'd never have an operation, but if you are told you think about penises and mistakenly think that means you aren't attracted to the woman anymore, because, oh noes "yuck she used to be a dude". What kind of a reaction is that other than evidence of what your mind is really thinking about the kind of person you REALLY are? (a bigot).

Like I've said before, if people really are genuinely no longer turned on... then they're not bigots or transphobic. But I've listed my reasons for why I don't believe they are no longer attractive and why they are mistaken about what they think they feel, and how it makes no sense because they're not actually addressing what they think they're addressing, and it's something else they're unattracted to, not the transwoman.

It's not like on closer inspection afterwards you look at the transwoman and then spot male features and are no longer attracted. That wouldn't be transphobic at all. But if you continue to look at them and you still can't see any male features and you STILL find them attractive.... and then you think that the fact they used to have a penis means you don't.... the question is why are you deluded like that and what is driving that delusion?
