My only problem with Cannabis legalisation is that there is no quick test to see if a person is driving under the influence. With Alcohol you just blow in a pipe and that gives a result in seconds, there is no such device for THC.

How do you tell if someone's smoking cannabis and not something a lot stronger? (apart from the consequences). Specialists see that once smoking hard drugs is accepted then there's an easy route in for more serious drugs.

You consider marijuana to be a hard drug?

Agreed. There's also the possibility that cannabis is more carcinogenic than cigarettes ... I say possibility because I also saw a number of pages on my Google search that claim the opposite (I've honestly no idea which is true).

I don't know either but to me that is a mute point anyway. Most people here in Holland smoke cannabis with Tobacco, so they get both products in their body.

Cannabis is way down the scale with soft drugs.

Sorry - I mis-stated: Alcohol on the damage it causes could be classed as class A. Cannabis is over rated at class B ...according to my mates over at the local drugs advisory service.

I have heard both too, but I have heard and read MORE that cigarettes are more harmful because they have more tar.

What does everyone think of legalization with and age limit?

I certainly can't imagine it being legal WITHOUT an age limit.

True ... though I haven't had it for quite a long time I have to say I always quite liked hash (I remember me Bob Marley specials at Poly ... they were fun), not sure if I would so much now since I'm trying hard to be an ex-smoker.

I've never smoked but have used cannabis in the form of cake.

As a long time canabis smoker, i'm not really sure if legalisation is the way to go.
For sure, it is not a hard drug, but it cause problems nevertheless.
At a point in my life, i was smoking about 5g of the stuff every single days. And while this is quite a lot imo, i knew (and still knows) people that smoke more.
When my girlfrien gave birth to my daughter, it took my almost a year to break the habit. And at that time, my job was a bad one and i was not gaining that much money, barely enough to pay for all the things childrens and familly needs. But as much as i knew that i did'nt had the money for it, i was still unable to bring myself to quit. Wich mean that while my child never missed anything essential, there was barely enough of it.

Now that i have reduced my consomation to a bearable level, i understand that the harder thing to do was not break the physical dependancy (wich is a very low level one, but still existing contrary to what so-called specialist say) but the psychological one is really strong, for me at teh very least.

But anyway, when every thing is said and done, i think that in fact legalisation would not change much, weed is such an easy drug to obtain that legal or not, if somebody want some, he will get it easily.
The good point about legalistion is that i may help control it's consomation among teen, but i don't really think so, Alcool is 18+ here, and i have been buying in directly from the store since i'm like 12...

I did, quite many time, and as an heavy smoker don't have problem doing it after a joint or two. But i remember full well a night where i smoked close to 10g with a friend in the span of a few hours. I was wonderind why everybody where driving SO fast thins night, till a realised some 10 minutes latter that i was the one driving WAY too slowly (about 40Km in a 90Km zone).
Well, it may not be that dangerous driving way to slow in term of big impact, but if i have been able to drive this slowly this long withoput realising it, what else did i did'nt realise about what was going on around me...
