Philosophy is something I somewhat understand, but my main area of expertise is psychology.
My dad was a psychologist.

Philosophy is something I somewhat understand, but my main area of expertise is psychology.
TBH I'm just reading "The Story of Philosophy" maybe when I finish I will try out some of the actual works of individual philosophers.

That's my favorite book ever It was the first philosophy book I ever read.
I tend to read about philosophy more than read individual works. But I have two books by Galen Strawson 
There's free audiobooks, that are part of the public domain, of Arthur Schopenhauer's, on YouTube. Which is cool.

My local online library has Aristotle's, the Nicomachean Ethics, on audiobook, on a wait list. I'm putting myself on the wait list.

My dad is a well-meaning abusive cunt. Kind of like Hitler only, far, far, FAR less bad. So much less bad that it kind of trivalizes Hitler to compare him to Hitler. But the point is he's still pretty damn bad. Although he thinks he's good and means well. For starters, he's not always bad. Or at least wasn't always and isn't anymore. There was a period when he pretty much was always bad.

My dad, unfortunately, is not well-meaning. Abusive, certainly. Like Hitler, overboard descriptor, me thinks.

Honesty indeed. That's why I said less bad.
It is an overboard descriptor but I didn't specify how much less bad he is. So it's technically correct.
But yeah, I just wanted to emphasize what an asshole he is and I couldn't think of another shitty and manipulative propagandist to compare him to.
