Quote:What if a very hot young woman wanted to FUCK YOU SENSELESS?
Well myself I am a family man, got a wife and kid. I hope for thier sake I would not get too frisky. In terms of atheism vs Christianity, a true believer knows that there is accountability at a greater level than even your wife. God's says don't commit adultery, and if I was tempted would have to thinkk to myself about the what if's. What if God got ticked off and sent me to hell for hurting my family and wife. I know some pastors in the past and even present day who have comitted adultery, were booted out of the ministry, yet God still used them latter on in life. So even God is a bit lenient, I mean he let David in the bible live when he has sex with a mans wife, and David even had the womans husband killed in an attempt to cover up. So am I sayiing I will pull the pants of the next hotty down just to satisfy an urge knowing God might forgive me? No way. There is a verse in the bible that says, "But suppose the servant [Christian] says to himself, 'My master [God] is taking a long time in coming,' and he then begins to beat the menservants and maidservants and to eat and drink and get drunk. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers". - Luk 12:45 sounds harsh doesn't it, and it is designed that way to scare believers into doing right when they may be tempted to wrip apart their families.
Hey I love God he is awsome.

Right, you wouldn't cheat because god would get mad. That's some set of morals you have.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

You don't cheat because that would separate you from God - instantly. Separation from God = misery. You might be tempted... short term gain and all that.

I would rather hope that someone's reasoning would not be this... I would hope that they wouldn't cheat because they have a family to care for... A child shouldn't have to grow up in a broken home... God never has to come into the equation.

My Question for you is, if god is omniscient, and knew how the world would pan out, and knew that most of the human race would end up in hell, why did he create us? Would it not be more moral to not create us and spare most of us an eternity of punishment?
Even if you bring freewill into it, he knew before we existed, that we would not to believe. Why did he proceed, surely that's not the best plan he could come up with?? If you knew 100% that if you had 5 children, 4 of them would live in absolute misery for their whole life, would you have them anyway?
I'm looking for you to justify god's reasoning and to stand by it as moral and right, not just to say I don't know and can't know, because that is such a glaring hole in christianity, I don't know is not good enough.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life.

That's a very good question and one that I have asked many times but never with a satisfactory answer.
I hope that you succeed where I have failed.

Fat chance Dar, it was one of the questions nobody ever tried to answer on my way to becoming an atheist. It's always fun to watch them squirm though!

They always seem to worm their way out of everything... I think it is about time that we catch one, and tie them up. We shall force the answers out!

They can't get past that kind of question. My paper airplane analogy is just another way of posing the question.
Never had a proper response to it yet.

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

It is because there isn't an answer they can give that will allow them to carry on with their silly beliefs.
