I need to take a break from this site. Can only take so much of people talking down to me when I treat everyone with respect and consideration. It's tiring and gets old. Jor calling me stupid and saying she's laughing at me, and then multiple people insisting on calling me delusional after I already expressed that I don't like being called that.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I'm not going to walk on egg shells by not calling you delusional. I haven't debased you in any way. If you cannot handle a simple word like delusional, then you need to strengthen your constitution. I'm not speaking for Jor, haven't been keeping up with what she's been posting.

It would make me feel better if you accepted that you're delusional and tried to move past that by accepting the realistic truth that god is a false man-made concept.
You could just tell me I'm wrong/mistsken and we can debate the points. I'm fine with that. You don't have to insist on calling me a demeaning word associated with mental disorder, especially after I've already said it bothers me to be called that. I go out of my way to be kind and respectful to people here, through disagreements.
But looks like you've chosen otherwise and followed up with a vulgar emoji. Thanks. Anyway, have a good day. CL out.

Quote:As CL pointed out, it's generally accepted - over 80% - that some god is a reality. So, thanks for confirming that theism isn't a delusion.
Nope it can be delusion even if 100% believed in it the numbers don't matter so nothing was confirmed

Trans is not a delusion sorry nice try .
Quote:What one finds plausible is highly subjective.
No it's not
Quote: Personally I don’t think you are going to get anywhere by just calling a large group of people delusional, and that you need to support your claim with more than personal opinions.
Of course you will think that it's in your interest to think that .The only thing i need to support is the fact delusions exist and people have them .
Quote:It’s not argumentum ad populum, but addresses the definition given.
Nope it's an argumentum ad populum as it using the popularity of something to refute an idea .
Quote:That would require a different argument which appeals to popularity of a belief.
Nope this works fine .

Yes, you're a kind, respectable theist as opposed to what we have witnessed here. However, you have been here long enough that I shouldn't have to tone myself down due to your emotional manipulation that you wield quite adequately. I could be calling you worse things than delusional, and you're harping on it for the power you alone are allowing it to have over you. That should tell you something, the problem lies with you and not me.

Religious people are delusional

Never said that
Quote:and use the same word to describe you as I would to describe the mentally ill because words only mean what I want them to mean so I can be mean and dismissive without sounding mean and dismissive.
That's your issue not a fact
Quote:According to both medical and non medical dictionary definitions of the word, yes it does.
Not it doesn't this has already pointed out
Quote:Sounds like you are trying to make up a new definition of that word as an excuse to keep being demeaning to people you disagree with.
Or making up reasons to be offended when that not what anyone's doing using it
Quote:I need to take a break from this site.
Good luck then
Quote: Can only take so much of people talking down to me when I treat everyone with respect and consideration.
Or you falsely interpreting people doing so
Quote:It's tiring and gets old.
You do you
Quote:Jor calling me stupid and saying she's laughing at me,
Quote:and then multiple people insisting on calling me delusional after I already expressed that I don't like being called that.
Considering we already admitted everyone to some degree is delusional ...
Quote:You could just tell me I'm wrong/mistsken and we can debate the points.
We already have
Quote:I'm fine with that.
Then there is no issue
Quote:You don't have to insist on calling me a demeaning word associated with mental disorder, especially after I've already said it bothers me to be called that.
And you don't have to get offended by it but you do
Quote: I go out of my way to be kind and respectful to people here, through disagreements.
And you seem to assume the contrary to others

Not sure how that vulgar

Too bad trans isn't a delusion in the medical sense or otherwise .

Too bad the bones of Jesus hurled at you feet and invent a reason it's not so

Which is irrelevant

Even with the term if not all hypothetical have have equal counterfactual's and Pascal’s wager is garbage .

Some of us could learn how to have a respectful discussion with someone we disagree with.
Also, if you are really trying to present an argument you want the other person to take seriously, insults and name calling don't help, and as a matter of fact hurt.
It's hard, in today's climate where you probably read what a libtard snowflake you were three times before you finished breakfast, to remain civil. It's hard to not attack back when you feel attacked. But pick your battles and don't take it out on the wrong people.

What’s the point of talking to someone if all you’re going to do is verbally attack? I mean, if that’s what you want to do, fine. But, don’t pretend you’re interested in actually connecting with another person while at the same time calling them names. That’s not productive dialogue. Just be forthright about it and admit that it makes you feel good inside to tell someone they’re wrong.
