They should include in their lawsuit that the pharmacist isn't being paid to give his opinion on whether or not the woman had an abortion. He's being paid to fill a prescription. The fact that he injected his worthless opinion of "I don't believe you." is completely irrelevant. He is not a doctor and it is not his right to make a medical decision.

I agree that religion has no place in medicine. This guy should never practice again. He could have called the MD for the condition being treated.

Know what... if that was actually his position, that he couldn't consciously fill it due to religious reasons, then I'd be fine with that. But he caused a lawsuit the second he did two things: One - gave his personal, unasked for opinion on her miscarriage and two - refused to send the script to another local pharmacy that could have filled it. 

And the apologists can come in here yelling "Oppression!" all they want to. The only person that was oppressed was the woman who had to go through the pain of the miscarriage, which would have ended sooner had her script gotten filled, like it should have been. So they can take their oppression bullshit and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. That pharmacists religious beliefs were not in any way being oppressed.

You would think that, one miscarriage would be able to notice another.

The way I read the story is that she and her husband were already on holiday when they found out that the second foetus had died. Not entirely clear why they had to drive all the way home, though.
