To be fair, we don't have an imgfit button, but just typing it works well. Seriously, that image, before imgfit was somewhere in the area of 19 megapixels. At full size, you can see the individual weaves in the canvas. Now, it's at a manageable size.

If, before you post a photo, you left click on it there are size adjustment bars in the corners.  Drag it up and in and it will make the picture smaller.  Then hit submit when you have it where you want it.

Except that imgfit blows up small pics to fit the screen size which results in ugly pics and an overwhelming experience even on regular size pics when viewed on a desktop or good sized laptop. If imgfit would shrink but not enlarge pics, that would work, but it doesn't.

And what would the point be of restricting photos to sizes so small that imgfit isn't a good solution?

This doesn't seem to work for me, though I'm not sure I'm doing it right. I left-click on the preview and it pops up the Windows context menu for my browser.

I didn't try imgfit because I can't predict what screens it will be viewed on. My partner at Hyperwar tried to get me to restrict certain files to specific sizes "because they fit better on the screen". My reply was "which screen, your cell phone or my 27" monitors?"

First, I'm not sure I understand your question, or where it's coming from, but the positives of not using imgfit are multiple.

No pixelation of small images. No image shock on desktop monitors.  Images which are suitably sized instead of massive.  Maybe you like being accosted by 23" images, but I don't.

With the cost of large screen TVs, plenty of people are using monitors upwards of 30". Imgfit is ridiculous overkill on such screens.

I see imgfit as a good solution for images that are wider than your device's image resolution (1366 pixels, in my case). Not for small ones that are likely to cause pixelation, then you just use "img".

Well, I checked it on my iPad and my Phone, and my Nighthawks imgfit worked on both of them, in addition to my laptop.

Small according to what? My screen size, your iphone screen, my tablet screen, whose screen is your advice tailored to?

My screen resolution is 1900x1080 -- I don't see images that are wider than my device's image resolution very often. I don't think you're thinking about anyone's situation but your own. You aren't the only one using the forum, you know. If imgfit shrunk images but didn't enlarge them, then you'd have a point. But it doesn't.
