It is a belief in the same way that not collecting stamps is a hobby.

Hi - new here too and looking for some fellow heathens to hang out with.
While the consensus of posts above is of course absolutely right in that atheism is a lack of belief in something for which there is no evidence, I think one could argue that it is a 'position'. Given that the universe and the nature of reality is probably far stranger than our African plains evolved senses and intellect can comprehend one could speculate that the jury is out until we know a bit more about how this thing we all inhabit actually works. Of course, that does not mean one should accept unsupportable claims without any evidence, but it just might mean having an open mind until the jury comes back into the room - and I speak as a 98% atheist of a coup[le of decades standing.
Hi again - and waiting to be shot down in flames.

No, it isn't. Next discussion.

That is the mentality of the Christians: they accuse everybody that they are following a religion - wrong religion that is (devil). It starts back with Paul who said "their god is the belly" in Philippians 3:18. And ever since then they have been accusing everybody of having a religion like let's say an astronomy club: "you know they get together and talk about something it must be a religion", so they were burning people for that. So no wonder Christiand accuse people with no belief in supernatural of being religious.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

What system do all atheists in common?
Let me rephrase your questions, and maybe you'll see how they fail...
Please describe the belief all theists have in common.
Belief in a supreme being or deity.
And let me tell you what you are gonna do next: you are desperately going to look for a counterexample, a dishonest one if necessary, then you are going to repost, ignoring the rest, particularly my challenge to tell the specifics
you claimed beforehand about atheism.

You tell me, i am no teist and i havent defined others´peoples beliefs with specifics. Isnt it pretty disingenuous to ask somebody else to make your own stpuid argument for you?
Now back to my original question. Why arent you simply answering it? I didnt claim atheism was a thing, you did, and you gave some pretty specific criteria. How comes you cant coment on the criteria you gave yourselves for other peoples´beliefs, not even a single one?
Why is arguing in good faith such a big issue for you? Is it because you are a troll?

Hello.
I admire your restraint.
As far as I'm concerned that jury has been back for around 45 years.
