Star Trek Discovery Season 2 is Good
February 11, 2019 at 9:33 pm
The first season of STD really sucked. It was boring. The characters weren't interesting, the situation wasn't interesting, and the character reactions to the situation wasn't interesting. It didn't have the feeling of exploration the way the other Star Treks had, and so it didn't feel like a genuine Star Trek. The Orville felt more like Star Trek than the new actual Star Trek did. That said, season 2 has made some vast improvements. It's actually somewhat interesting, and is making me look forward to the next episode.

I didn't mind season 1.

I love this show.
I've never seen other ST's except an episode or two here or there, so I didn't have many preconceptions.
I liked Season 1, but I do like season 2 much better so far.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

They completely redesigned Klingons, their weapons, and their ships.
This was only watchable because anything is better than Abram Trek!
I can't help but see a resemblance in facial features between the main character and Kira from DS9

I refuse to watch it because I won't pay for CBS All Access, and I am sort of turning adversarial toward the Star Trek franchise since CBS started acting like assholes in regard to fan productions. Some of the fan productions were brilliant, and amounted to fans dedicating serious time and money into projects that promoted the franchise. When CBS came down on fan productions with their draconian rules, they extended a giant middle finger to several decades of the franchise's tradition and culture which condoned and even encouraged fan creativity and made the franchise vibrant.
I don't accept Discovery as canon.

Well, there's always the pirating option.

I saw the first two episodes.. like the idea of pike as captain, can't get over spock having a step sister that is never ever mentioned. at least the idea of syboc was mentioned in the original series. Now there is no brother bt we do have a sister?!
why did the klingons need to be redesigned again?
also hate the new quantium drive bs as a pre tos mode of transportation. if they want that make it an enterprise F thing. As voyger should have revisited if this was apart of canon.

Angels in Star Trek?!! And the way they tease us with it from one episode to another as if I give a shit.
Gene Roddenberry would not have allowed this. No wonder that back in the day he kept firing writers because they can't keep up with his vision.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
