For historical accuracy, it will have to be a movie of a four-hour conversation about theology in a pub, with C.S. Lewis and Charles Williams.

From what I've seen JRR will be day dreaming a lot.

May we pray to all that is sacred FSM Sad he never hears of the Silmarillion. I would rather sit through Wagner's ring cycle in Latin.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

Boru

And he used those calendar artists for concept art. So he was doing what most people thought Middle Earth looked like.

Which explains all the pointed ears and getting the hobbit feet all wrong.  But that's trivial.  My main objections to Jackson's films include (but are not limited to):

-Mucking up the motivations and personalities of several main characters (Théoden, Thorin)

-Have characters in the wrong places at the wrong times (Arwen, Gimli).

-Rushing through the important bits (The Council of Elrond, the ride of the Rohirrim) and stretching out the dull bits (self evident).

-Leaving Radagast out of LOTR and shoving him into The Hobbit, where he had no bloody business being.

-Leaving out Bombadil entirely.

What green wizards?  I'm aware of the blue wizards ('They went to the East and do not come into this tale...').  That what you meant?
