Well, I haven't been watching American TV shows for quite a while.
Well, I only tell it to you the way I've heard about it from not just the people who have visited your country, or from the movies you make, or the general image that you have around the world, but I've spoken to a lot of Americans on the internet, many of them, girls.
I've listened to a couple of life stories, to actually come to the conclusions that I've come until now.
Quote:1. A man and woman meet in a bar and have a discussion. They later decide to go to her/his room and proceed to have sex. The man leaves and says he'll call her (which he probably wont'). No problem, legal in most states and those who have antiquated laws probably don't inforce them.
2. A man and woman meet in a bar and have a discussion. They later decide to go to her/his room and proceed to have sex and man gives the woman an agreed amount of money for the sex. Illegal in most states.
Does this make any sense at all? If it were legal we could free up many police persons to actually spend their time on arresting real criminals.
Well, prositution, if unchecked, can actually turn both participants into dangerous STD bombs.
The real reason why the second one is illegal, is due to the fact that it is an untaxed form of income.
You actually make money without paying tax for it.
If prostitution gets legalized, the second case will still remain illegal, unless she was sent to the bar by a professional escort service, but other than that, freelance prostitution is considered to be illegal even in countries where prostitution is not "illegal".
Not to mention that such prostitutes are not under the constant control of the state, and are not obliged to have weekly tests for STD's.

Perfection of mind, body, spirit, what the fuck ever doesn't factor in to victory compadre. If you're appealing to a military as some sort of moral authority you've been sold a bill of goods.
(should I even bother talking military service with you? have you served?)
On that note, your buddies who visit, and the fiction on TV (you know, make believe...for fun) have also sold you a bill of goods.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

And how exactly are you going to win a war, if your soldiers and officers are not perfectly in unison with eachother, and themselves? How are you going to win a war if your soldiers cannot even hit the target in front of them while firing full-auto?
It certainly is an important factor in victory.
Besides, if you appeal to "democracy" as some sort of a moral authority, this is where you've actually sold yourself for a bill of goods.
Because it is always the politicians who have something to gain, and the people who vote for them, vote for their selfish desires.
But if you put your faith into the grand army that protects you against the enemies that surround you, how can you fail?

Let's examine the following scenarios.
1. A man and woman meet at a bar, have a discussion and agree to go to his/her room. They proceed to have sex and no money is exchanged. Legal.
2. A man and woman meet at a bar, have a discussion and agree to go to his/her room. They proceed to have sex and money is exchanged. Ilegal.
Does this make any sense at all?

Does this make any sense at all? Yes it does, because the first woman does not actually earn anything out of this. The second one, however, requests monetary payment in exchange for sexual services. In short, she is a service provider.
And providing services in exchange for money must be taxed by the government.

You have already revealed the weakness in putting stock in the morality of the army, Mehmet. By suggesting that it bears no responsibility for doing what it is told, you have pointed out its lack of something very important for morality: A mind.

Well, it bears no responsibility when it is commanded by someone else.
However, if the army was an autonomous institution, it would have the ability to judge things on it's own.
I mean, the army's loyalties should only be to the country, and the people.
Not to politicians.

And what, may I ask, has that to do with the legality of the act?
