This is the sky of the biggest city in the country of Brazil, São Paulo at 2-3 P.M. The smoke of the burning Amazon Rainforest has covered it entirely.
But yeah, it's not fucking Notre Dame so who cares? It's been only burning for 16 days.
It's probably burning because of Trump and China who wants to buy soy from Brazil now, so they're burning Rainforest for new soy fields.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Simple, yet very well informed views from Greta Thunberg, especially after 2:10

Yep, I remember it being insulting and unrepresenative. I aint italian.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

But what about the line "people start pollution" - don't you find that insulting? I mean what about corporations? Don't they pollute? Why not make a commercial that says: "Coca-cola makes billions and billions of plastic bottles - blame them for pollution" -- Wouldn't that be more representative?

Actually, no...I don't. I understand that people "start pollution". Coke makes millions of bottles, sure, because it's worth money and plastic bottles are useful.
I don't like it, but I know it's true.
We....the royal we...are responsible for pollution.
Coca cola makes what we want. The consequences of what we want aint cokes problem.

Unfortunately the image if native Americans living in peace with the land prior to the arrival of Europeans seems to be largely false. On a per-capita basis, Native American impact to both the ecology of the American continent and global climate were outsized compared to bronze and iron age cultures of the old world, and there seem to have been periods when their global climate impact rivaled our own.

TLDR, those fuckers were raping the earth as much as they could.
-and why wouldn't they be? They'd have to be mouth breathing idiots not to. My fathers weren't mouth breathing idiots, by anyone's standards.
