Some years ago (I disremember exactly when), the UK Meteorological Office changed the definition of what qualified as a 'white Christmas'. Previously, there had to be snow lying on the ground at ANY weather observation station at 9:00 AM on Christmas Day. Now, if a worker at any station reports a single snowflake falling from the sky at any time during the twenty four hours of Christmas Day, it is officially recorded as a 'white Christmas'.
So, if you're planning a holiday trip to Britain in the hopes of some Dickensian-style Yule with heaps of fluffy white snow, brace yourself for disappointment. Or go to Scotland, the odds are much better.

Ah, you kids. If only you knew the snow we used to have
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
