I'm in the market for a light duty MIG machine.

I already have a TIG/stick welder (heavy duty)...

Any recommendations on a good low 
cost one - new?

I have this one

I've built a structure for a cabinet that holds my table saw and fence, and a hand rail for the front walkway steps with it so far. The structure is 16 gauge square tube and the hand rail is 1-1/4" black iron pipe. The hand rail far exceeds any government requirements.

I was borrowing my neighbor's Chicago Electric.... Not bad- but a bit glitchy.....

I talked to a retired welder I know and he gave me a reccomend on a Hobart 140.

I just picked one up....
(It has both flux and MIG and includes regulator)

Gotta go make some sparks..

I have at home one old electric arch welder. For electronics ofc I am proficient with the hot iron.

MiG or MaG are strangers to me.

My advice to newb welders: use the fucking eye protection, unless you want sand in your eyeballs.

Good boots too... I wore tennis shoes once. Got a hole in the top of my foot for my troubles.....

Plus all light shielding. A ten second tan isn' t really a good idea...

Careful with that stick, you could go blind! As far as instant sunburn, in metal shop in high school, a couple guys were arc welding wearing only t-shirts because it was hot. Nice red arms between where the gauntlets stopped and the t-shirts started.

The only "weld" "der" I have is knowing the difference between "Well" Reagan and "der" Trump.

Just popping in to say I know absolutely bugger all about welding.  Carry on.

Ran the Hobart with flux core. 

Awesome. Low splatter. A bit smoky but the welding hood vent kept up.

Tomorrow I'll get some C25 and some solid core wire. That should be intetesting...
