Pretty sure I am appropriately horrified by the story. The series didn't draw me in the way some others have but now I want to keep going to see what happens.
I tried watching the second season, but I just couldn't. Not only did the first season do a good enough job of absolutely terrifying me, I felt that I should have respected the author by not continuing with the second season since the first season covered the entire book.
I just finished episode 7 of the second season. I am sort of committed now to finishing it.

Hulu had Disney+ for ~$8.00U$D/month. Is "The Mandalorian" worth a look?

Verizon gave Disney+ to customers free for a year!
My son suggested 'The Mandalorian' but I haven't made it there yet. He isn't liberal with his entertainment suggestions so I assume it's worth a look.

I haven't even bothered to see The Mandalorian yet, but then again I'm not a huge Star Wars fan.

And now, the story of the most brilliant sitcom in American history (except for maybe the last season), and the One otter who had nothing better to do than watch the show on Netflix, it’s Arrested Development.
