Changing the banner to promote BLM

Changing the banner to promote BLM
If this website is to embody another cause/theme, other than atheism, as a (current) patreon donor, I'd like my/our opinions on that to be heard, without being DELETED by the "staff," so as requested here is a thread for that. Global warming? Veganism? Eschewing air travel? Anti-paedophilia activism? Pick a cause...or chill at AF where it does what it says on the tin.

I never have understand how unity and equality can be achieved by picking sides of "us versus them".....

I dislike the term "Black Lives Matter" because it implies that there is a WIDELY held view in society that black lives do NOT matter. I find that to be unrealistic, hysterical, DIVISIVE hyperbole.

Who said you couldn’t express your opinions without them being deleted? You are allowed and encouraged to express whatever opinions you like (as long as you abide by the rules). Members were simply asked to stay on-topic in a [Serious] thread. Some did exactly that. Enough others went far enough afield that it was decided that a do-over was the best solution.

So, if you’d like to come down on the side of AF not supporting equality and civil rights, you’re perfectly free to do so.

I support equality and civil rights fully, yet appose the fiction that society is systematically racist. I'm a Brit, but we have crime music here too: gangster rap, grime, drill...take your pick, and that's the tip of the iceberg as to why black people might commit more crime (FUCK YOU WHITE AMERICA due to slavery - hint). Fuck me this is exhausting....grow a brain peeps...please.

ETA you know full well my posts in the other, protected banner thread were deleted.

Yes, I know they were deleted - I’m the one who deleted them. But not because of your views or the way you expressed them, but because they were in (as you said) a protected thread.

If it’s any consolation, you weren’t being singled out. I deleted EVERY post (except the opener) in that thread, including mine.

I don't know what it's like in Britain but systemic racism IS a problem in the US. It's hardly a fiction here.

Because you say so.....

Amazing how that works.

I recently heard of an American vehemently denying the existence of systemic racism, while at the same time saying that if all statues of people with a racist history were removed, the US would lose 95% of its statues.

Irony is precious.

RE: Changing the banner to promote BLM
Systemic racism is illegal in america, just as it is in the UK. The fact BLM et al have not been able to identify and call out these, apparently invisible, systemic racist structures which are active in the modern 2020 world screams that its only proponents are...well, mistaken in thinking they exist.

Hysterical white mono-culture middle class with no black friends or lovers who worry they themselves are a little racist due to unfamiliarity and fear of the "different" (ie - black people) doing the "the lady doth protest too much, methinks" dance, and black people revelling in "poor, persecuted me" victim mentality making up the majority of their number, by my reckoning.

Basically, BLM is sad as fuck. 2c 50c.

I'm not sure, personally, that I'll be able to continue here if this new banner comes to pass due to...er...embarrassment at frequenting a forum with such a stupid banner, especially when there are other, very REAL and MASSIVE problems facing the world, which would be apparently not, in the same way, deserving of being featured on the banner - global warming :cough cough:
