Prepare for a giant let down... I have a gut feeling that Skyrim is going to bomb. MARK MY WORDS!

If it was going to bomb then the people doing the previews would have already hinted to it or shown some signs that certain things weren't implemented properly. As it is, I haven't seen any of that. Trust me, I've read a hell of a lot of previews.

I've pre-ordered, hoping for a midnight release so I can camp outside GAME and mingle with fellow Skyrim nerds.

Can you game geeks tell me (a non-gamer) if Battlefield 3 is a good game? or it's priors?

I actually didn't care for Oblivion that much at first either. Once I found a character / playstyle that suited me, I spent way too much time playing it.

One thing that I liked about both games is that you don't have to follow the story line / quests at all. I had hours and hours of fun simply trying to steal everything that wasn't nailed down (particularly in difficult spots), and murdering everyone in sight, all without getting caught (and without using exploits that would make it easy). It was more practical in Morrowind than Oblivion, as in Oblivion getting away with murder is a lot harder.

It can also be fun to try and play the game as a notorious outlaw a bounty - for a real challenge, with a high enough bounty that guards attack you on sight. Try playing the Thieves Guild or Morag Tong/Dark Brotherhood arcs with the guards always on your ass. Not sure it can be done.

In my opinion, while Oblivion was obviously a more polished game and Morrowind suffered from dated graphics and a fairly clunky UI, Morrowind in a lot of ways was the better game with more replay value. There are some skills and such that are easily exploitable in Morrowind which make the game way too easy if you use them. Those were mostly fixed in Oblivion.

I never played BF3, but the earlier ones were good, especially in big multiplayer games.

If you need to know about battlefield three: check reviews for it online. Smile there's plenty, and it probably is decent given the first two were solid. Smile
At nappy: don't pick on the nongamer... He doesn't know what he's missing as he ignores it Tongue

Hating on Oblivion is sad, by the way. Do you just suck at playing in a sandbox or do you just suck at playing in a sandbox? Heart

13 days.

Also, Oblivion is quite old by now. I recommend mods. It's also the second most sandbox game ever released, right behind Morrowind. (though I would argue that Oblivion offered more choice, due to the radiant AI and faster combat; I remember when I put poison apples EVERYWHERE, and unleashed zombies across the Imperial City, which sparked a guards versus zombies war that lasted two days. Good times. ps, the zombies won; the dead guards kept coming back as more zombies)
