RE: Random Thoughts
So, imagine you’re watching a zombie movie that a Youtuber you follow recommended to you. She recommended it as part of a list of movies she’d recommend for people under quarantine, and you finally get around to checking it out of the library. But, much to your horror, once you pop in the movie and press play, the first three minutes are just a collection of anti-smoking PSAs strung together. Why? Because one of the characters smokes. Apparently, there’s a law in India that says that any movie where a character smokes has to include a 20-second disclaimer telling the Audience that they don’t condone smoking IRL (and also include a little watermark saying “smoking is injurious to health” every time a character is seen smoking.) And for some reason, the filmmakers (or distributors) decided that stringing along a couple more anti-smoking PSAs to pad out the runtime (is 102 minutes just too short for Bollywood?)

You know, it’s one thing to remind the public that smoking is bad once in a while. Belaboring the point just makes it all the more Fucking tedious. To be fair, it’s not like the time I went to see Gravity and for whatever reason, the coming attractions included a 10 or 15-second PSA about how the chemicals in cigarettes can also be found in car exhaust and antifreeze being repeated for 20 FUCKING MINUTES with intervals of black screen that may or may not have been a specific length. And they didn’t even smoke. Hell, since the vast majority of it was set in space, the characters couldn’t smoke without killing themselves instantly!

Makes me wonder how ‘Peaky Blinders’ would fare. Everyone on that show chain smokes like an irate dragon. And I do mean everyone - gangsters, cops, men, women, preggos, street urchins, the lot.

Most of you know my current work history.

Anywho. I am the type of individual who will only talk about work while I'm at work, while I listen as everyone else talks about whatever they want to talk about.

Furtherwho, there is this one nurse who admitted to be into conspiracies and he loves talking about politics. Usually, I avoid him, because I just don't want to listen to that nonsense coming out of his mouth. Seriously, though, the stuff he talks about, it makes me realize his IQ must be well below average or he is simply gullible.

When he brings up something that recently happened, I state, "Nope, haven't heard of it", because that is my way of avoiding acknowledging such controversial topics at work. While he speaks, I simply nod and go "Mhmm".

I recently told him I don't pay attention to politics, and he acted all surprised as though politics was the only thing in the world worthy of acknowledging.

Japanese company successfully tests a manned flying car for the first time

[Image: 200829155123-sd-03-flying-car-exlarge-169.jpg]

Quote:A Japanese company has announced the successful test drive of a flying car.

Sky Drive Inc. conducted the public demonstration on August 25, the company said in a news release, at the Toyota Test Field, one of the largest in Japan and home to the car company's development base. It was the first public demonstration for a flying car in Japanese history.

The car, named SD-03, manned with a pilot, took off and circled the field for about four minutes.

"We are extremely excited to have achieved Japan's first-ever manned flight of a flying car in the two years since we founded SkyDrive... with the goal of commercializing such aircraft," CEO Tomohiro Fukuzawa said in a statement.

"We want to realize a society where flying cars are an accessible and convenient means of transportation in the skies and people are able to experience a safe, secure, and comfortable new way of life."

The SD-03 is the world's smallest electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle and takes up the space of about two parked cars, according to the company. It has eight motors to ensure "safety in emergency situations."

Autumn or Fall?

Springing works, summering works, wintering works, but autumning just doesn’t.

Therefore, falling.
