“2068” –Massive Asteroid Apophis on Path for Earth Impact

https://dailygalaxy.com/2020/10/2068-mas...th-impact/

Quote:“The results show that the asteroid is drifting away from a purely gravitational orbit by about 170 meters per year, which is enough to keep the 2068 impact scenario in play,” said Dave Tholen at the University of Hawaiʻi Institute for Astronomy (IfA) about the acceleration phenomenon that arises from an extremely weak force on an object due to non-uniform thermal radiation. This force is particularly important for the asteroid Apophis, as it affects the probability of an Earth impact in 2068.

Ok, there's a 1 in 530 000 chance that this asteroid will hit the earth when I'm 98.  If I live that long, I'll probably be ready to check out anyway.

And why exactly is this in the 'Religion' forum? Is there some bizarre Qurannic prediction I’m unaware of?

Good question.

But we shouldn't be surprised. Every religion has doomsday nuts who cant understand nature and the universe don't care about their superstitions.

Not the point. If he mistakenly posted it in the wrong forum, I’m happy to move it for him. If it is some sort of religious doomsday prediction, it belongs here.

While I once believed in God, I have long since ditched the vile idea that it takes mass genocide to correct human behavior. When a meteor hits our planet, and that is not a matter of if, but when, it will be no different than the meteor that killed off the dinosaurs, and there will be nothing super natural about it. And nobody sane is going to argue dinosaurs worshiped gods and had their own doomsday claims.

Again, it's not about that.

Insert Uranus jokes below.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
