My "understanding" of Mexico is that there is a lot of drug dealing and graft, and that the Federales are not to be trusted. What are you experiencing? Perhaps I am misinformed. I really appreciate a true report, as I'm looking at bailing, though my wife isn't.

Much like the USA, it depends entirely on where you are. I have personally never witnessed an act of violence in decades of visiting here. Admittedly, I have only visited 5 mexican states. We are very near the border of Jalisco an Nayarit and we love it. It is a developing nation, with all the attendant issues.

I have never felt unsafe here in the least.

Just got off a zoom meeting with my mom, brother and sister, now enjoying a simple dinner of corn tortilla, homemade guacamole and leftover roasted chicken.

I should be working but instead I’m hanging out waiting for these idiots to get my power back on -_-

Also, fireworks. At 7;45 PM there's a mini fireworks show a couple miles north of here every day it seems. You can almost set your watch by it.
