We've had a C-19 unit at our facility for the last two months.
One nurse spent her time there for more than a month, never caught C-19.
Honestly, I thought I would have caught it by now.
At this point, I wonder if some of us aren't immune to it.

Weird. People don't freak out when weights are given in elephants.

I think you need to back away from the narcotics.

I am surprised I haven't caught it. I have some health issues which added to my age make me a prime candidate for it. The thing is that I really think that's what landed me in the ER in early February before it was even talked about. Hopefully that's the case. I am getting a little tired of living in a bubble.

Tale of Tanzania and COVID-19
Quote:"Travellers should avoid all travel to Tanzania. Travel may increase your chance of getting and spreading Covid-19," the CDC said in a statement on its website.
The statement comes in the backdrop of concerns and criticism over how Tanzanian authorities, led by President John Magufuli, have handled the virus since it was first reported in the country in March.
President Magufuli has insisted that the country is free of the killer virus, thanks to prayers and the faith of Tanzanians.
The Tanzanian authorities have since ruled out the possibility of locking down the country or enforcing Covid-19 guidelines.
"I want to thank Tanzanians of all faiths. We have been praying and fasting for God to save us from the pandemic that has afflicted the world. And God has answered us. I believe, and I'm certain, that many Tanzanians believe that the coronavirus disease has been eliminated by God," President Magufuli told worshippers in Dodoma.

The Tanzanian government also stopped publishing data on the number of coronavirus cases in the country, with the latest and final tally on infections released in April indicating that there were 509 cases, with 21 deaths in Tanzania.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I have a similar thought. There was a brief period where I was really sick, before the virus was officially announced as an issue, that makes me think perhaps I could have already had it.
But, I never got the antibodies test to confirm.

I had an appointment with my GP last Thursday.
Today I had an appointment with her nurse for my last B-12 injection. Since I have a CT scan on Monday the doctor wants to go over the results with me before Christmas since I am going to the hematologist/oncologist on Dec. 29th. Aaaannnnnddddd....my doctor has COVID. Positive test on Sunday. So, if she is well enough we will be having a virtual meeting on Wednesday morning. Sheesh - sure am glad that doctor and I both wore masks and there was no physical contact between us since we were discussing meds, future tests, and upcoming appointments with specialists.

Kirk Cameron thinks that California’s stay-at-home orders exist to persecute Christians, so he's organizing large gatherings of Christians to spite measures against spreading COVID-19 in order to invigorate his faith.
Indeed, when you listen to him talk about his new discovery of forbidden gathering that invigorates his Christianity, he sounds like those married couples who lost their passion for sex and they found something new to invigorate it.

The US has now lost more people to COVID-19 in 12 months than it lost in the four years of WW II.
I’m sure that ineffectual idiot is happy he beat FDR’s score.
