I've gotten plenty drunk, just never ended up in bed with a stranger.
Any guy who woke up and wondered who I was must have considered himself lucky. Just saying.

I honestly don't think I've ever woken up with anyone I didn't intend to wake up with.
In my serious drinking days (fuck, did I just say "in my day..."?) the girls always went out in a group with ar least one designated sober loser (who gad all her drinks bought for her the next time).
It worked, too.

It's that time of year when it's a bit chilly. For a few hours midday the sun streams through a big half moon window that's about 16 feet up and not something we can put a curtain or shade over. The sun shines right on the thermostat so the heat won't kick in...it's cold in here. In a couple hours it will cycle by and the heat will kick in again. The dogs are all in little balls trying to stay warm.
It's nice and warm in the hall by the bathroom door but that's not a great place to try to get anything done or even relax.

16 feet up is a bit daunting but you could use a 20 foot ladder and they make a static cling applique that is heat reflective with varieties of color and opacity. They have decorative ones too but they would just lessen the effect. We got ours at Home Depot. I found things like it by searching heat resistant window clings.
My guess is that the bottom of the window is 8 ft. It's probably four and a half feet high, at least. Damn thing is huge. It's just one of those things we live with in this quirky house. Of course, I wanted this house because it's quirky and am careful not to fuss about it or husband gives me "that look".

Oh, you could probably reach it pretty easy then. Just cut a section to fit and you'd be good to go!

Or you could put a little reflective sunshade above the thermostat. Foil/mylar/foil sandwich, and

A picture for perspective. I am standing next to the thermostat. Considering a two step stepstool makes me woozy, I doubt I can climb a ladder high enough to accomplish much.
