Nobody wants to work anymore

RE: Nobody wants to work anymore
You either believe that a company should be able to dictate starvation wages, or you do not. If you do, it makes no sense to bitch and bicker that you'd rather -not- give them the corporate welfare that you've just handed them, and that we will all pay for.

Pay for your own misanthropy, on your own dime. Maybe you can find somebody to shit on for that $2?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Dictate?

They got you chained to a pipe in the basement?

Nobody can force you to work for any set price (except of course the government - who seem to want everyone at the bottom of the payscale).

Better yet - start your own business. We will tell you how much you have to pay the dolts who come to work for you.....

I do alright, the dolts who come to work for me tell me what their labor will cost. Works wonders for retention.

The trouble people have here, amusingly enough, is that the manufacturing sector has failed to be competitive with fast food on wages - and this, combined with.....the plague......... has caused waves up and down the logistics chains for those subsidiary assemblers. That has implications for the availability and desirability of work, and sufficiently compensated work, across the board.

If you can't turn a profit and pay your employees...you're bad at business, or your business model is bad.

Really?

Think so?

Tell your emloyer what he is going to pay you - and see what happens. Tell him - "I get "X" dollars OR ELSE!

Seriously.

Try that.

Tell us what happens.

In  capitalism the buyer and seller AGREE on a price.

There is a wage below which I wll not accept the positon. Is that not also true for you? If it is, how are we not setting the minimum price for our labor?

sweetheart it's not about starvation wages... currently there is a 300 covid bonus to unemployment to which most people average about 500 a week on unemployment. if two married adults both collect that is a total of 1600 a week times 52 weeks in a year that's 83,200 per year to sit on your ass and do nothing. 1600 a week divided by 40 hours is 40 dollars an hour. divide that by two people it still 20+ dollars an hour. tell me you are willing to pay a 20.00 sur charge to have your pizza delivered. or pay an extra 20 buck to the next sit down meal you are served. or a 20$ service allotment for each movie ticket you buy... and 20 bucks is for the jobs no one is meant to make a career out of... how much more is a mechanic worth. what about an AC guy in the heat of summer or a boiler guy in the dead of winter? how much is it worth to you to ensure your airline pilot is not the same 20$ an hour guy who gets your starbucks wrong every time?

what the government is paying them to stay home far exceeds the 15$ per hour even they are asking for. this is an engineered attempt to crash the economy and middle class.

It' s not like the point of risking money starting a business is to like - make money......

Maybe don't risk money if you're shit at business that you have to exploit your workers by paying them non-livable wages in order to make a profit. I don't feel sorry for people who need to exploit people in order to profit. I don't give two shits about them, and really do hope they go fuck themselves as they go out of business.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

Go get your sweet sweet gubmint cheese if that's a better wage , Drich. What's the problem?

Are you making a principled stand to die for the dow in your own life, or is the american government a bit less generous than wingnuts imagine? IIRC, you're stockpiling guns for the apocalypse and profit. Is unemployment a more lucrative market than arming your fellow separatists?

Sugartits, it's EXACTLY about starvation wages. Run along and play with your dolly. Grownups are talking.

again it's not. i had to close my mobile service because of this. my lead tech was making 27.00 an hour averaged 65 hours per pay period, and he quit because he could make more at home.. his wife made more money than he did. then grandma who was still working as well moved in. they figured out that they could make almost 60 dollars per hour and then get a supplement for their kids. they have 10 kids. they make more money now in direct cash food health care and child care credits then they every could at work.. which is saying alot because before he quit he bought a 300K home. so now instead of working their asses off for 80k a year they get paid much more by the government to stay home. or at least this is what ive been told by him and have not seen or heard from him since. one of my other guys is talking about it as well as his parents are doing something similar. and mom is a nurse. same money no long hours.

Unless you have a really good reason to quit a job you aren’t going to get unemployment. Try again.
