Anyone who thinks minimum wage is going go fix anything would likely agree with the Golgafrinchans that making the leaf legal tender and burning down the forests to solve the inflationary problem was a sensible idea.

RE: Raising the minimum wage won't help
When I was in my early twenties I had a minimum wage job. Then I got a 25 cent increase because the minimum wage went up. A week later I noticed a lot of food prices went up enough to pretty much negate my increase and I figured huh, raising the minimum wage really does cause inflation and unemployment. I eventually learned all the arguments for why it would do that, crystalizing my opinion on the matter. It was only in my fifties that my idea of the consequences of raising the minimum wage started to crack. There ARE undesirable consequences to raising minimum wage, but doing it smartly can minimize those, and overall raising the minimum wage gradually to keep up with inflation is a net boon to the economy.

What kind of logic is this? News flash: the cost of living goes up regardless of what the minimum wage. is Why wouldn't you want wages to keep up?

Also worth noting that the minimum wage was meant to be minimum living wage. $7.25? What a fuckin joke. Stop cucking for corporate America. The minimum wage should be based on a formula that calculates cost-of-living and inflation, so we don't need to debate why poor people deserve to live like human beings every 20 years.

There might be a real difference between saying that poor people shouldn't deserve a living wage and just saying they should die, but I'm not sure whether said difference lies in semantics or cowardice.

If your sole job skill is "do you want fries with that?" you need to get more skills - or get your mother flowers regularly - because you' ll be living in her basement for some time....

Don't expect to be able to support yourself.

If you work in the fast-food industry you as entitled to a living wage as anyone else. Anything else is elitist bullshit.
