Movie plot holes "Diehard 2"...........

Movie plot holes "Diehard 2"...........
Here is what I don't get about the ultimate outcome of the plot of that movie.

Ok, so the bad guys are cleaver in holding the airport hostage, and keeping the planes in the sky as hostages. But their escape plan was forcing the airport to provide a jumbo jet to allow the bad guys to escape. Ok, fine, but what happens in the script? McClain jumps on the wing of the jet, fights the bad guy, releases the gas cap on the wing, and lights it on fire, which defies gravity and blows the bad guys up.

Ok fine. But even if he had not done that, and the jet took off what would stop military jets from shooting it down?

What was that? Pointing out that I was a wimpy nerd who would never look like Tom? I am long over that knowing he is a scientologist.

Holy crap, not the point!

McClain blew up the plane at the end of the movie, which misses the point. Even if he had not, military radar and tracking could have shot the bad guys down at any point after they took off.

Bruce Willis was paid - adjusted for inflation - about $16 million for ‘Die Hard 2’. When you’re paying the star that much, he gets to blow up the plane.

The whole movie was crap. I remember seeing it in the movie theater when it first came out, and being very disappointed. The blowing up of the plane via "fume trail" was just plain stupid.

I did enjoy the first one -- it was a Christmas movie Smile

True, very true. But we are talking about actor pay, not plot consistency.

It’s an action film. Plot holes are to be expected.

I actually liked both of them. I am simply looking  back at script holes. Die Hard 3 was as bad as Beverly Hills Cop 3. As bad as Jaws 3.

I liked Die Hard 1 and 2, like I like Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2 and Jaws 1 and 2.

No kidding.

One of my favorite plot holes is from the movie "True Lies".

In it secret government agent "Arnold" the "Arnold", in the movie is chasing a middle east terrorist riding a motor cycle through Georgetown, a suburb of Washington DC, on a horse the script allocates it being taken from a DC  cop. Anywho, the chase goes through the streets of Georgetown into DC.  Eventually the bad guy, the middle east terrorist ends up in a garage and busts through some double doors and guess where he ends up? Having lived just south of DC/ Georgetown, I found it amazing that his bike was so fast that he ended up in the Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. And when I saw this movie for the first time all I could think was, "Damn, that is a fast fucking  bike."

That’s a technical error, not a plot hole.

And there’s no such movie as ‘Die Hard 3’. It’s ‘Die Hard With A Vengeance’ and is arguably the best film in the franchise.
