The Cleveland MLB baseball team will have a new team name starting for the 2022 season. 

For years, decades when Native Americans and supporters protested the Washington NFL team name, there were cries of mass exodus and that never happened. The Cleveland team will be fine, just like Washington didn't fold with it's name change.

Actually, the ‘cries of mass exodus’ went the other way. Attendance was dropping because of the name ‘Redskins’. Once the name was changed, revenue returned.

At least Cleveland picked a better name. ‘Washington Football Team’ is just stupid.

You missed my point. The minority of fans insisting that the fan base would collapse were wrong. I actually agree with you. 

My point is that any Cleveland fan who stupidly insists on clinging to the old name, are also going to be wrong. 

My point was that there were a minority of Washington fans whom stupidly thought they were the actual majority in wanting to keep the old name. They were wrong. 

And as far as Washington's new name. I hope they keep it. I like it. "Washington Football Team" LOVE IT.

I had to google this to see if it was true. AND IT IS. Seriously with the 1st part of their name being Washington, they literally could've made a play on American Patriotism. Even something like The Washington Revolutionaries would be decent.
