RE: Random Thoughts
Since believing in God makes people happy, why don't we just lobotomize those parts of the brain that have nothing to do with religion/spirituality, and then augment the remaining parts of the brain, to be more receptive to the idea of God? And then fill people's lives with religious fellowship, good food, and fancy wine? The people would be very glad, and I am certain they would never want to return to their previous state.

So, torture and oppression aren’t enough to make people religious and you propose resorting to surgery? Can’t say I’m surprised.

The world of the living should be made as happy as possible, for everyone. This is especially true if this worldly life is all we'll ever have.

But it’s not certain that religion does make people happy. I’ve been free of the strictures of religion for nearly my whole life, and I’m deliriously happy.

RE: Random Thoughts
Well, I think religion/spirituality is the most reliable way of making people happy, not that it's the only way. But most people in the world, will say "yes", when asked if they believe in God, which means most people have made a conscious, or unconscious, choice to believe in God, and I think this is because people naturally want to be happy.
