Like, a jumble of letters and numbers?
When you went to the login page did you put the jumble of letters and numbers they sent you into the password box and try using it to log in?
Yes 4 times. But again, each time, it doesn't send me to a security code question box, it sends me to the standard log in field as if I didn't forget my password.
That's where you put the code they send you. It's a temporary password to get you back into the system where you can then change your password to something you might remember.

No, I've had to reset my Twitter password before, years ago. The fields look completely different when you click on the email link that sends you the code. It keeps dumping me up to standard log in field as if you didn't lose your password.

Just because you did something years ago doean't mean it hasn't changed.
People have been trying to help you and you just argue. That's why companies don't have call in tech support any more.
Did you try the steps I gave you earlier to try to locate your password on your computer?
Another thing, too may tries will often lock you out for a time which is why you got a message about suspicious activity.
Cool your jets and slow down. It took nearly a week for Apple to sent me a new password for my iTunes account.

You think I didn't try that? It rang and gave me a service error message.

They were down YESTERDAY. Facebook employees couldn't even get into their office building. Everything was broke.
Have you tried today? I also bet you aren't the only one is the mess your are in.

Yes, I am the center of the universe (sarcasm). But this was Facebook, not Twitter. I already admitted I panicked and thought it was on my end. But by clearing my cache and cookies, I couldn't get back on Twitter because I couldn't remember my password. That is not a Facebook product. I have never had a password reset problem before.

Twitter was overwhelmed yesterday by the fact that Facebook and all it's sister apps were down.
Try again, you imbecile.

Where the bottom bar says "Type here to search," type "cmd". In the black box that appears, type "fdisk" and follow the prompts.

I have to admit, you have a point there. If McDonalds and Burger King had a beef shortage, it would affect both franchises.
