I'll give you something to cry about.
This is for your own good.
Well, you asked for it.

"Comfort food" <----- if you don't like a food, how can it be "comforting"? It matters if you like the food.
"Institution" regarding restaurants, NO, JUST NO! You don't get a degree for eating food. A college is an institution, a restaurant is a place you eat.

All of the cliches in AA. They are mindless and used all to frequently. But maybe I think this because I never 'let go and let god'.

How do you guys feel about altering cliches so that they're not quite the cliche anymore?
Like, "I just put 2 and 2 together" instead becomes "I just put 3 and 7 together" or insert relevant numbers to come to a total of numbers actually being discussed.
"Selling like hotcakes" = "Selling like prescription opioids"
"Avoid like the plague" = "Avoid like a Trump rally"
"Let your hair down" = "Let your ass hang out"
Is it too confusing?

In creative writing class, we were taught to reword the cliches. It's definitely something I actively pay attention to in my writing.
