Remember the old days where a "pinko" was a slur for communist?

Heh

It was typically tied to the word bastard. And sometimes rat.

In the classical world, the colour pink - along with all other shades of red - was closely linked with the ideals of masculinity, courage and bravery in battle (through association with Ares/Mars).

Yup pink use to be a boy's color while blue used to be a girl's color. Oh to all those people who say men can't wear dresses tell me what makes the clothing on the left, not a dress.

Indeed. Plus even today today, Catholics associate the colour blue with the virgin mother.

Plus; It was queen Victoria who popularised white wedding dresses. Before then, brides were free be as inventive as they liked.

Below a clip from my favourite TV wedding; Alice and Hugo from The Vicar of Dibley. I was trying the find the procession; the attendants are dressed as Teletubbies. The vicar is of course Dawn French

Me too .Sadly Three of the cast members have died, including Emma Chambers (Alice). She was my favourite among a cast of wonderfully eccentric characters.

One of my favourite lines from Hugo's dour father, in reply to some proposition he didn't like :"I'd rather eat my own scrotum"

One of the farmers in the mix went onto village radio with his opinion piece "Is sex with a poodle always wrong?"

Alice and Hugo had seven children because Alice got confused with the pill.   The truly sad thing is I actually met a woman like that. She'd miss a day so she'd start on a new packet.  Angel Result, pregnancy. Baby had spina bifida. Both parents far too stupid to cope.

I think the lead prosecutor in the Ahmaud case did a fantastic job.
