Neither the OT or NT God are real. I also was raised Catholic. But it doesn't matter the sect. There is no reason to fear the wrath of mythology or the threat of a non existent hell. You can still be a good human and be non violent and have empathy for others without superstition.

The fear of "if I'm wrong and there is a god, I'm going to hell" is insidious.  However, consider this:

1) If there were a god, how do you know it accepted your promises, or even cares?  What can you promise an omni-everything god anyway?
2) If there were a god, it would know exactly why you don't believe.  If it punishes you for that, its a dick.

The bible god is bad fiction.  The OT version is a tribal war god, and the NT version is an extortionist -- "believe in me or else!".

When you think about it Lord Yahweh isn't the only god in our fiction. There were all the Greek gods, Norse gods, Egyptian gods or whatnot. So if one god can exist why not another? So even if you think Yahweh is real, it could be Zeus or Odin and you're fucked anyway for not praying to them instead of Yahweh.

Frankly if you can come to the conclusion of just one god being real, then you can come to the conclusion that none of them are.

Do you know the god of the old testament murdered humans? Do you know what love is? Would you consider god murdering humans an act of love?

I think that can be taken as a 'yes'.

According to the Book Of Genesis, YHWH wiped out the entire human race except for Noah and his family.   That's genocide in my book, so 'murder' is an understatement.

YHWH of The Torah was a monster. Jealous, petty, vindictive and genocidal. This was a small tribal god, and limited in so many ways.

YHWH became king of the universe and the one creator God only after the putative Exodus. The people who became the Jews became monotheists  at that time, at least officially.

As Judaism evolved, so did its god. Eventually YHWH  became the only, creator god, Lord of the universe. He was ascribed infinite attributes of omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresent.

It's my opinion, that to such a being we would be less than ants. We would be incapable of  pleasing or offending such a being.

Nobody "converts". Humans are not Transformers. We simply change our minds about the positions we hold.
