Nothing says "my arguement sucks" more than linking it to " save the children".

Your new law still allows older people to smoke around children....

It’s not ‘hiding behind’ children or anything else. One of the reasons specifically give for the proposed law is to reduce the incidence of childhood asthma induced by secondhand smoke.

Yes, people will still be able to legally give their children asthma, bronchitis, and cancer. For now. The proposed law is another step in a programme to eradicate legal tobacco from these islands.

Do you own shares in a tobacco company or something?

Just so everyone's clear, you do understand that Second-hand smoke is a thing, and that it's also a problem that directly impacts the person in question's health even if they never pick up tobacco products directly? It's not like drinking in front of your kids has the same sort of physiological effects that smoking in front of them does.

And I'm not even arguing for or against the law (I like tobacco as much as I love drug criminalisation, with the only edge being one at least gives us useful wooden boxes that can be turned into a guitar), just noticing that there's a blatant hole in the arguments you're making that you seem hell-bent on ignoring.

All freedoms are, of necessity, limited. You, for example, don’t think people should have the freedom to riot. Why is that?
