[Quranic Reflection]: Quran vs Hadith- why the Hadith is false

Could have just stopped with this - as it's the only reason you hold the position you do.  Nothing to do with canadians specifically, nothing to do with the west generally. Nothing to do with hypocrisy or any commitment to the basic humanity of other people or whatever cruelty they suffer or suffered. Nothing at all to do with rehabilitating a criminal or preventing crime.

Magic book said it.  End of. It's cruel and barbaric, but that's a given for an islamist. The pure mindlessness of it, and the attempt to cloud your shame with batshit rationalizations, is what really sticks out. Ultimately, this is why a thread about how any given set of superstitious utterences are false and another set true is pointless. Let's assume that you've got the fairy tale right. That there is a god, your god, not the other guys gods, certainly not the god of hadith, and definitely the god that told you to chop off a hand.

So what? Shitty people would have you do shitty things all day long if that's your kink.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Please quote that line in the constitution.

Even if the US Constitution did say that (it doesn’t), so what? It’s a fallible document written by fallible men, and makes no claim to being the word of God.

The Quran, on the other hand (pun intended) is claimed to be the divine revelation of an infallible being, and this is where we find the go-ahead to mutilate criminals.

The sad bit is that you don’t - and never will - see the problem with this.

God already has everything under his control; life is supposed to be like this: it is supposed to a place where the good humans battle the evil ones, over and over until judgement day comes.
Mutilating thieves is God's solution to humans to stop and prevent theft so we may live peacefully, "we" humans; not God.

The people who claim to be "Muslims" -like me or like Arabs or like any person claiming to be a Muslim- are not necessarily Muslims. Talk is cheap and it's not evidence on anything to honest.

In one sentence you say God isn't trying to win a battle.  Then you say that a life of good people battling evil ones is preparation for the afterlife.  Sounds like God does not have things under control and needs people to do his dirty work.

It's quite a pleasure having Winter on ignore. I think I'll keep things that way - much less pain from eye-rolling.

His pathological need of having to tell others what a terrible person he is, that can be quite disturbing yes. Same for Kloro. At least they dont try to hide their hideousness.

Correct, I was an american soldier.  Infantry.  That means I risked more and did more for muslim people on an average tuesday then you'll do in your entire life.

If you wanna talk about some beef you have with drone pilots, however, then pull up a chair.  If they didn't keep those boys locked up in storage units half a world away they'd probably get lynched.  You see...I'm not obliged to agree with something that the service has done just because they did it, or told someone else to do it.

We'll do worse than nukes, and your failure to see that outcome as the inevitable, if regrettable, product of a cruel dictatorship which placed no value on the lives and safety of it's citizens is of a piece with your inability to see that muslim countries are being eaten alive by islamists on account of what a 7th century warlord told them to do.

I have a question. The west has an issue in it's treatment of prisoners. Enemy combatants...domestic detainees. Should we have cut off the hands of the enemy combatants, and cut off the feet of the domestic detainees - to prevent them from committing those same crimes again? Would this convince you that the west was moving in the direction of justice and compassion?
