Americans live wild and free, everyone out for themselves. Norwegians live more like domesticated animals. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's clearly working out for them.
According to the State Of World Liberty Index, Norway ranks 9th in terms of personal freedom, property freedom and economic freedom. The US doesn’t even make the top 25.
Not for nothing, but New Zealand ranks first.

Can you give me some concrete, real-world examples of how Americans are freer than people in, say, France or Japan or New Zealand?

Can you give me some concrete, real-world examples of how Americans are freer than people in, say, France or Japan or New Zealand? There are around 330,000,000 people living in America, around 550,000 of them being homeless. There are around 125,000,000 people living in Japan, with only around 4,000 of them being homeless.

"Freedom to be homeless" is not something I'd call a positive.

Yeah, improved housing security isn’t a terrific argument against social programmes.

From your OP, you seem to be unhappy with socialism.

From your OP, you seem to be unhappy with socialism. I prefer the challenge of living in a more capitalistic society.
