It was a few states away, but she felt like it would be worth it. I ended up staying there only a month and a half, came home, right back to square one.

So, how did you end up coming back home? Did you just decide to not bother with the treatment, or did you actually try to stick to the regimen, but it just didn't do anything? How many attempted treatments have you tried and failed at? I ask because I know from personal experience that it can take a couple tries to actually find something that works.
My insurance wouldn't keep paying for my stay at the resort, plus I wanted to come home anyway, although I'm not sure why I wanted to come home, as I should've known nothing would be different when I got there.

What did you expect to be different?  Did you expect your family to change?

I’m not a doctor. I’m assuming, however, that you do have a doctor though. You mentioned a manic phase earlier. Bipolar, if that is what you are dealing with, can be tricky to treat with medication but it can and has been done. It can take time before finding the right combination of meds to work for you. I highly recommend continuing to seek professional medical care.

It's probably a $1,000/day, maybe, $2K or more.

His mother is a nurse practitioner.  It seems he would have better access than most people to capable care.

I expected to be in a better mood. That didn't happen. I would hate to say going to the resort was a waste of time, but.......

@Ahriman btw - I really liked the Billie avatar.  Not so much the new one.

It could just be me, but I think the opposite. Most of Ahriman’s posts (at least the ones I saw) were closer to the shitposting end of things and seeing Billie Eilish with her tongue out just underscored that impression. Seeing this new avatar at the same time as I see some real emotional content just shows more vulnerability.

Shitposters are always the snowiest of flakes. Every time they sit down to troll the board they show their own throats. This one thinks it's up to mommy and daddy to provide it with anything it may want because it knows that it's personally incompetent - for example.

Back to parental responsibility: I remember my schoolmates chatting about how much spending money they got from their parents. When they asked me, I said, ‘Room and board.’ They were stunned that Mum and Da didn’t pay us for the privilege of being their children.
