Nudger beat me to the "allegorical" comment. You could also expect words and phrases like "bondsman, not really slave", "kidnapped, not really slave", "Jubilee", "cultural context" and "chose to be enslaved", among others. Anything other than just admitting that the bible endorses owning other humans (and Aquinas does as well).
