Christians love to say that abstinence is the only 100% effective form of birth control, even though their entire religion is literally based on that not being the case.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Isn't life wonderful? When it's entirely possible to live in a perpetual state of fear and there's nothing you can do about it? Man, I sure love being paranoid constantly. My brother doesn't feel this way about things.

My Alexa smart devices have started talking to each other. One mentioned that I could listen to my Audible books by saying, "Alexa, read my audible book," and the other Alexa in the bedroom took that as a command and started playing a video about Audible books subscriptions.

Just bought myself a tabletop meat shredder. I'm experimenting using canned chicken meat in a soup this morning, but hell, if I can shred my own, that's much better.

If red states invested more in education, they wouldn’t be red.
