Actually, I'm waiting for the DVD collection to come out because I only subscribe to basic cable TV. From what hardcore LotR fans have been saying, however, it might not be worth watching. I think I haven't seen or read any good reviews to date.

If they had taken Tolkien’s basic story outlines and built on those, I’d be more forgiving. As it is, they’re playing fast and loose with timelines, characters, etc. Amazon is just more or less taking characters’ names and creating entirely new personalities and stories around them.

It’s a train wreck.

Can't remember precisely where I left off with Doctor Who, but I know it's season twelve. I'm guessing episode four, because I distinctly remember the Nikola Tesla bit. So I'll start with episode five.

I've seen some episodes of Raided by Wolves, but I don't remember it well enough. So I'm going to start from the beginning.

Edit: forgot I was watching Doctor Who; will catch up on that first.

I see that Amazon has suspended all on-site reviews of ‘The Rings of Power’ for three days.

Says a lot.

Good choice. Tom Baker remains the best Doctor.

I'm a LOTR fan, and I'm enjoying it.

Watched the first three episodes and am still deciding if it's going to be worth it or not.

I find it interesting how much press there is...spoilers, explaining things, etc.  When I pull up the news page on my laptop, I can count on no less than 5 articles about various aspects of the show.  Seems they are trying to convince themselves while convincing us that it's worth it.
