I would. Gets rid of him without harming anyone else, spares the country the worst of his demagoguery, and decapitates the inbred group of mental munchkins who support him. What's not to like?

I'd say the majority of Americans hate Trump, and many Repubs look to be distancing themselves from him.

Close calls in a system designed to favor reich wing nuts are very good evidence that the majority of people do think they're assholes who shouldn't be in charge of anything. Not that it matters, since same said reich wing assholes believe they deserve and in fact need to be in charge, of everything, even if and especially when no one wants them to be.
In order to "right the ship" and save those poor lost sheep from themselves.
Are we talking an actual libertarian, here, or a "libertarian" ala the koch funded firebomb throwing wing of the reich wing cause? An actual libertarian would be more left leaning than the dems. Meanwhile, a "libertarian" would be a non starter, as equivalent to or even more right leaning than the nuts. As far as hating trump..sure, any patriotic american would - but that's an echo of the salesman theory, itself. People thought the bullshit he stumped for was garbage long before he ever crawled out of a hole to sell it.

to be blunt, the republicans who hate trump are still more trumpy than not if they could find it in themselves to remain republicans while trump still breaths politically.

If anyone thinks Trump has lost his grip on the party, just reflect on the fact that there were close to 200 pro-Trump election skeptics that survived the primary process in 2022.

They don't hate trump, they hate that he pulled the trigger on the coup too early, lol. They long for a dictator with a better sense of timing. I think he should have waddled on over to the smoldering ruins where portland used to be and declared martial law then and there. Missed his shot - judging by the amount of people who believed..and still believe, that particular line.

Regarding what do I mean by a Libertarian...just the broadest definition for now - they're interested in keeping government out of our private lives, which sounds good for some things, not good for others. I'd be more pro-Independent than Libertarian, admittedly though, I don't know enough about Libertarianism to see if it'd be overall beneficial for the US or not, or if it would just be a different label, but more of the same bipartisan nonsense.

Keeping the government out of our private lives won't draw the dipshits looking to make government so small it can fit inside a uterus and drown a teenage rape victim in the bathtub.
(I did the whole "libertarian" thing when I realized that the gop had left the place I'm at, until I realized it was a front for legalized racism and a wedge meant to continue gifting the gop with unrepresentative authority. LOL, I still remember when Hannity was a "libertarian" radio shock jock.)

Maybe you lot should be seriously reconsidering the requirement that your President has to be a natural born citizen. Widen the field of potential candidates a bit. The overwhelming majority of the countries in the world have no such requirement, and they seem to be able to struggle along without it.

That would definitely help. ^^
For now, I'd like Trump to fade into the background...

Nah, there are plenty of us - it's not the lack of a pool of talent...thinking as much is just an excuse for making bad decisions in spite of there being good ones we could make.
