Light saber. Blasters are everywhere and make conceptual sense to me as some form of plasma generator, but the light saber simply mystifies me enough to, were it real, warrant inspection over many other things, including a blaster.

Be driving along the Libyan desert, out of range of most human contact, have your transmission fall out at 45 mph and have to pick up pieces and repair the thing

- or -

Have to replace your brakes and catalytic converter in Alaskan snow, icy mud included in the middle of a sleet storm?
