RE: Random Thoughts
Islam is the fascist political ideology masquerading as a faith.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Am viewing pics of my grandson's baptism on FB. I have to bite my tongue a bit as my daughter is a lousy mother and he is being raised by his other grandparents, for the most part. They love him dearly and take excellent care of him and do for him things his mother should be doing. For that I am thankful...not so much for the indoctrination. But he's only 11 so maybe it won't take.

Oh goody, got a text from the pharmacy letting me know that since I am considered to be old as dirt, I am eligible for yet another COVID vaccine. Guess I better get that scheduled.

A porn parody of "Beetlejuice" could be called "Boobiejuice".

Recently there have been tourism ads for Iowa. Other than one or two people there, I can think of no reason to make Iowa a destination. They are in the process of ruining The Field of Dreams. The smell of manure isn't much of a draw for me. The governor is a MAGA wingnut. There are no mountains. There isn't a beach. I find it hard to name a selling point and I lived there for most of the first 30 years of my life.

It occurs to me that Frodo could have tied the Ring to a chicken, the led the chicken to Mordor attached  to a bit of string. That way, Frodo could have avoided the burden of carrying the Magic Dingus all that way.

Of course, the chicken would have turned evil, but realistically, how much damage could one evil chicken do to Middle Earth?

I met someone from Iowa once. I asked her what it was like. She thought for a bit then said, ‘It’s flat, but it’s quiet.’

Not what I’d call a ringing endorsement.

I remember driving through Iowa at the spring thaw. The stench of pig shit was intense.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Most of the locals call that the smell of money.

It's also very green in the summer...still not much of a selling point.
