Christianity's Valuable Contributions to Humanity: An Examination of Militant Atheism
RE: Christianity's Valuable Contributions to Humanity: An Examination of Militant Atheism
I feel bad for Xavier. Dark evil forces control him.
"For the only way to eternal glory is a life lived in service of our Lord, FSM; Verily it is FSM who is the perfect being the name higher than all names, king of all kings and will bestow upon us all, one day, The great reclaiming"  -The Prophet Boiardi-

And you clearly have not read your bible. Which version of the bible do you prefer (not to have read yet on slavery)?

Your slaves in the bible could be INHERITED by your children. The bible literally says that your slaves are your MONEY, and you could beat them as long as they did not die within two days. The bible even tells you how to trick temporal (jewish) slaves into permanent slavery.

In my experience, the magic books in peoples heads sound alot better to those people than what's actually in magic book. There's nothing that this ones bitching about that doesn't get full throated endorsement from holy writ. Babykilling, slaving, xenocide, communism - you name it. There's a reason the church didn't want anybody reading that shit. It alternates between absurd, horrid, and incoherent.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Deesse, fix the quote, it looks like I said that crap instead of Nishant.

But if we are to believe Nishant, the 19th-century Christians, like Lincoln, were fighting to free slaves from evil Marxists, which is why we should go back to medieval serfdom and outlaw woman's right to choose.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

It has alreay been explained, but what the OP fundamentally does NOT understand is this:

If christians are against slavery it goes AGAINST biblical doctrine, which repeatedly and clearly tells them how to properly enslave others, even their own (jews) tribe! The bible clearly gave differnent rules in how to properly enslave jews and non-jews, males and females. Christians have to own their bible, period.
If communist or facsict atheists, or whoever, murder people, even in the name of atheism, it has nothing to do with atheism per se. Just because i claim that i do x in the name of y does not make my claim true. Atheism is not a belief, has no doctrine. No atheist has to own Josef Stalin when he murders people in the name of atheism, because atheism never informed Stalin about having to order people. Murder is not a requirement for atheism, not even a byproduct (as opposed to the bible and slavery).

All the rest is just a dishonest smokescreen, including this stupid indentured servitude BS, as if that was substantially LESS immoral than slavery. I never could understand why anyone would try to mount such a stupid defense. Arguments like this just demonstrate how morally and argumentatively bankrupt anyone is who is trying to use these apologetics.
OPs plan clearly is to bullshit this forum into submission.

I feel compelled to point out that evil acts committed by atheists do not discredit atheism, any more than evil acts committed by religionists discredit religion.

Here’s a sampling (not exhaustive) of things that the Church of Rome has officially and publicly apologized and begged forgiveness for:

-The Crusades
-The Inquisitions
-The persecution of the Jewish people
-The subjugation of women
-The forced conversion of indigenous peoples
-The African slave trade
-The persecution of Galileo
-The endorsement and legalization of torture (Counter Reformation)
-The silence to and possible complicity with Hitler’s final solution
-The burning alive of Jan Hus
-The massacre of Byzantine Christians
-The anathema on ALL Eastern Orthodox Christians
-The murder, torture, and forced conversion of orthodox Serbs
-The rape and torture of orphans in Church-run schools

If you hadn’t committed these and other crimes, why would you apologize? And if you didn’t realize the damage you’ve done, why would you beg to be forgiven?

But do please go on about the unceasing kindness and good works of the Holy Mother Church.

Sounds like militants to me.
