Funny they get to cherry-pick when they need it to be a "metaphor".
There is no Satan. The concept came from Babylon, and  was used as well as mistranslated in the Bible.
It's nothing but an ancient childish concept used to explain why thing go wrong.
See Dr. Elaine Pagels (Princeton) "The Origins of Satan".
"Ante Luciferum, genuite". Lucifer was the "daystar". "Before the daystar I have begotten thee" (YOUR Christmas liturgy.) The planet Venus I think ??

Isaiah 14:4. In 2 Peter 1:19 "Until .... the daystar arise in your hearts," the word is literally, "light-bringer." It is applicable, therefore, not only to the planet Venus, seen as a morning star, herald of the dawn, but to the sun itself, and is used here as a title of our Lord. The light-bringer is not the devil.

I tried practicing herding cats, I now have fleas.

Start with the fleas. Being smaller, they're easier to herd Work your way up to cats.

The only problem with fleas, they're fussy. They've got some ticks.

Think i have just learned a bit from this encounter with NX. I read the catholic forum, and boy, while NX was the most creepy, the other people seemed to be not much less so. The amount of "i pray for...." was hilarious.

I think what we got here, was a religious fanatic/zealot. A seriously deluded one*. Not an extremist, necessarily. He held a lot of views that were acceptable or overlapping ours. However, his obsession with the RCC, with not only defending it but putting it on an pedestal, while condemning everybody else, first and foremost atheists, was quite pronounced, to say the least. It really opened my eyes to see how even catholics were appaled by him.

Anyone disagree? Please enlighten me.

*I came to this conclusion particularly, since he spewed the same nonsense and walls of text amongst his catholic peers. I grant him that being amongst his peers he was as honest as he could be.

I do practice herding cats.
My sister lives in a nice little cul-de-sac with many little kids and many pets.
She doesn't even have a cat, but they all come to her house and stay for the day.
Sometimes they stay on her deck all night. They know they willl be fed and cared for.
When I babysit for her I have to herd the cats.

I'll admit we have had some truly deranged theists but this guy makes Huggy and Dirch look like freaking Mensa members. Never on my time on this forum and the numerous theist morons who have passed through here have I encountered someone who mixes ignorance and overconfidence with a hint of pure deranged religious zeal as this freak. It's quite disturbing really that people like that exist and are not in an institution.

Yes, I wonder too, how people like this can function in what is called normal live.
I will take the lesson that extremism and fanaticism do overlap a lot, but are separate from each other.

It's unlikely he's anywhere near as outspoken in real life. The internet affords people a certain freedom to express themselves in ways they can't or won't in their daily lives.

Yes, ... but he said he wanted to be a priest.
Obviously even the Roman Church admins saw what a lunatic he is, and said, "um ... no".

What I found interesting about him is the way his writing style changed from "I'm the adult in the room" to juvenile "LOL"s and screeching "Stop slandering me!" when things got too personal.

I also vaguely remember seeing some reference to a wife and kids earlier on, but that was either a hypothetical wife and kids for his future self or an outright lie, as he later mentioned that he wasn't married.
