With polyamory becoming increasingly common, its only a matter of time I guess. A large proportion of the young people I know are in multiple relationships of some kind.

Multiple relationships? What's the point? Why can't people stay faithful to one person?

I'd say that many people find having multiple partners, especially sexual partners, more fulfilling than only having one. Adultery rates are high in monogamous partnerships.

Well that just means people need to get their shit together, not that single partner relationships are outdated or obsolete.

I think it likely that humans didn't evolve to be truly monogamous like some animals. Rather we are more naturally inclined to polyamory or serial monogamy.

But it doesn't matter. People should be free to have whatever relationship type works best for them.

Serial dating might be fine for young people, but more mature people should strive for monogamy.

If they want to, great. But monogamy doesn't work for everyone. I'm never going to be monogamous ever again. Not my thing.
