I´d say he just went further, WAY further than that. He claimed to flat out ignore reality (as if he doesnt already yet, but in an certainly undeniable way): He just claimed to flat out deny the reality of Hamas claiming what Hamas actually did. To criticize/or not he would have first to believe Hamas, which he flat out rejected. On top of that he thinks everyone else will deny that reality too.
