Hi Ahriman,
I’m still getting used to the chat lines, but it seems we are both on same page about Angrboda. Science provides no answer to the actual beginning of the universe. Indeed the more we discover the more amazing we can say is the world God made.

Your ignorance is not my problem. FWIW, I suspect something along the lines of Hawking-Hartle is likely. It at least is more substantial than magic.

But while we're at it, your answer requires that there be a temporal boundary in the past. Prove it or shut up.

Which is no less an answer than, "Uhhh.... God."

God is Fictional - an ex-Catholic responds.

I'm not going to answer every claim that has been nade in this thread, only answer a few that I've read about in the last few pages.

(Paraphrased): "Child sexual abuse has happened in nany other religions, organisations, and groups, not just the Catholic church."

Yes, it has. And it needs to be stamped out there, too. That doesn't excuse the Vatican or the church from the rampant child abuse that has happened all over the world, for centuries, by its priests and within the walls of so many of its institutions.

Nor does it excuse the Vatican sactioned cover-ups or protection of accused members of its institutions.

"Whataboutisms" is just a way of deflecting and thereby excusing the abuse within the church.

(Paraphrased): "Without god, how did the world begin?"

We have had knowledge of the process for decades, if not over a century. You can look it up under various headings such as "stellar formation", and the like.

In fact, thanks to deep space telescopes, we can even see the process in action in many different locations throughout our own galaxy.

"God" is just an excuse by people in the 21st century who refuse to move on from their Dark Ages beliefs.

May Odin ALLFather keep his eye on you.

Hi Angryboda
My answer is God, yours seems to be aggression and evasion. “I suspect something along the lines of … is likely” is unconvincing.

Hi Val
I agree with all your comments about child abuse. I have exposed two non clerical abusers, one running a youth group at my church who went on to abuse children at non Catholic schools. The other at a local swimming pool.
Please explain how stellar formations and the “process in action” started before you accuse me of “Dark Ages beliefs”. Your explanation is meaningless and unscientific.

Hi Angryboda,
Your aggression is matched by your evasion. We are all looking for truth. You don’t seem comfortable with it.

"Valkyrie" not "Val".

We don't know the full story of where the matter for the universe came from. It's quite possible that it has always existed in some form.

Lack of total knowledge does not mean, "god did done it, hyuck!"

Any answers along those lines id just a result of lazy, dark age, thinking, and harkens back to when we didn't have answers for things we didn't understand.

Lightning? Must be angry gods!

You ascribe to god did it! and accuse my answers of being meaningless?

Please!

And no, your god won't bless.
